nobleHouseWeb.jpgThis estate in Bernkastel owns vineyards throughout the Mosel River Valley, many of which are in the “best of the best” locations such as Bernkasteler alte Badstube am Doctorberg, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher and Zeltinger Himmelreich, Ürziger Würzgarten and Goldwingert, Erdener Treppchen and Prälat, Brauneberger Juffer and Juffer-Sonnenuhr.

Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler is owned by Dr. Peter Pauly and his wife Helga, both of whom are traditional advocates of noble wines. The vineyards are mainly planted on difficult to cultivate river valley hillsides and are planted predominantly with late maturity Riesling grapes, which place high demands on their location.

The 2008 Noble House Riesling reflects the slate terroir of the Mittel Mosel. It is the proud result of traditional viticulture and innovative wine-marketing. Hand-harvested in the vineyards around the famous wine town of Bernkastel, the 2008 Nobel House wine is a carefully selected, refreshing Riesling wine with an agreeable ripe peach and apricot aroma, typical of the Middle Mosel slate terrain. Light and refreshing with ripe pear, apple and white peach flavors. The finish is long, lingering and just off-dry; perfect for spicy dishes or picnic fare.

$12.99 per bottle or $132.50/cs ($11.04)
