conoSurSBWeb.jpgCono Sur Vineyards & Winery was founded in 1993, with the vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines conveying the spirit of the New World. Their name refers to the company’s geographic position; it represents wines proudly made in South America’s Southern Cone, on whose western edge lies Chile and its unique wine valleys. Over the years Cono Sur has diversified and enriched its fruit sources, leading a permanent search for the areas that will best express the aromatic and flavor potential of each variety. This quest has taken them to new and exciting terroirs, from the northern to the southernmost frontiers of Chilean viticulture.

This wine hails from Loma Roja, a block of vines grown on red clayish soils in the Casablanca Valley, where a strong Pacific Ocean influence fosters this refreshing, crisp, pale yellow-green wine. This wine is very fresh and floral in style, with white peach, lemon verbena, grapefruit, litchi and honeysuckle notes backed by a superlively finish. Very tasty indeed!

This Sauvignon Blanc is a great aperitif wine or an excellent option to accompany light first courses, ideally green salads or seafood. It’s a great wine to serve with foie gras, and it complements white meats, light sauces, vegetarian dishes, and fresh pastas with Mediterranean sauces. Cheese-wise, it prefers ripe Cheddar, Gruyere, goat, and soft cheeses in general.

 $11.99 per bottle or $122.30/case ($10.19)
