2010 Château Haut Bourcier; Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, France

bourcierWebAs you know by now, we always seem to find incredible values from Bordeaux, and this Gold Medal winning 2010 Château Haut Bourcier is a knockout.
Located in Saint-Androny, within the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation north of the city of Bordeaux, this family run estate is sustainably farmed and their wine is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on clay and calcareous soils. This wine exhibits a lovely deepness of color as well as flavor and a nose bursting with aromas of dark berries and subtle oak spice. Exhibiting a juicy, silky structure alongside the rich fruit, this wine has plenty of amplitude making it a natural with roasts, stews, and grilled meat dishes.
Drinking well already, especially with a 30 minute decant, this wine should provide immense pleasure over the next 3-5 years. See why Alain Ducasse jumped on this for his banquet Bordeaux choice
