Elgin’s cool maritime climate allows for slower ripening than in other areas of the Cape Winelands, resulting in wines that possess vibrant, concentrated fruit flavors and elegant mineral notes.
The 2010 Sutherland Chardonnay is raised for ten months in French oak, of which 30% is new. It has a lovely bouquet of ripe apples, pears, limes, and tropical fruits along with an attractive veneer of creamy oak. The palate is medium-bodied with notes of passion fruit, guava and orange zest. It has good weight and is creamy and suave in the mouth. This is a superb value!
