Join us for a tasting of these new vintages of some Best Buy wines that are delicious, affordable, interesting, and versatile wines. No better way to start the first month of the year than with another four wines priced under $15; wines that give others costing much more a real run for the money. Our search for quality and value is ongoing and it is with great pleasure that we welcome Bill O'Friel, sales representative for these wines, for this tasting. So come on in, grab a glass and join us at the AWM Tasting Bar this Saturday.
2008 Guilhem Moulin de Gassac Blanc; VDP de l'Herault, France The superstar estate of the Languedoc, Mas de Daumas Gassac, also produces a second label of affordable and delicious table wines that have captivated us with their quality. Made from Sauvignon Blanc, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc, this has a fresh zingy Sauvignon feel with lovely texture and a crunchy apple character. A great wine to have as a pre-dinner drink to whet the appetite, this very dry, crisp white wine is loaded with delicious fruit underpinned by a lovely minerality. Try it with seafood, spicy Asian dishes or green salads with goat cheeses.
