2009 Moulin de Gassac "Guilhem Blanc"; VDP d'Oc, France
This delicious white wine is from their 'entry-level' range and is incredibly good value! Made from 30% Sauvignon Blanc with 30% Clairette and 40% Grenache Blanc. The wine has a fresh lively Sauvignon feel with lovely texture and a crunchy orchard fruit character. This is a great wine to have as a pre-dinner drink to whet the appetite.  Very dry crisp white wine loaded with fruit and a touch of minerality.  Delicious with fowl and seafood, great on a picnic, spicy dishes and salads with goat cheeses. It is an outstanding value.

Ripe tropical fruit on the nose accompanied with notes of flowers and citrus give way to a full, rich mouth-feel with concentrated pear and fig fruit flavors along with layers of vanilla and sweet spice. The finish is clean and fresh with bright, crisp acidity. This is one of the nicest $10.00 Chardonnays we have tasted in quite some time!
