Spanish Springtime Exploration – Free Saturday Tasting – Saturday, April 5th., 2014 – 1 to 4pm

freeSaturdayTastingWebJoin Eric Steineger for this exciting tasting of Spanish wines perfectly suited for spring. The 2012 Volteo Verdejo/Sauvignon Blanc offers fresh apple, as well as citrus with fresh cut herb notes, and a palate that is dry, ripe and finishes with some minerality. Try it with fresh asparagus!  The 2013 Artadi “Artazuri” Rosado is a Garnacha rosé just begging for fresh NC shrimp, gumbo, paella, or a springtime platter of cured meats. The 2010 Volteo Garnacha features a lovely texture, a nice fullness of flavor (cherries and berries) and terrific purity! Very easy to drink and perfect with NC BBQ! The 2011 Bodegas Olivares “Altos de la Hoya” shows a deep ruby/purple color in the glass and on the palate exhibits dark berry flavors wrapped in a touch of oak spice. The palate exhibits a beautiful balance and structure making it perfectly at home with any grilled meat dish!
