3 Bottles Château Marjosse; “Owned by Cheval Blanc’s general manager, Pierre Lurton, Marjosse is always a friend of shrewd consumers seeking value-priced Bordeaux. The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2010 exhibits abundant notes of mulberries and black cherries intertwined with subtle herb, earth and oak characteristics. 3 Bottles Domaine du Bouscat “Caduce”; “Proprietor Francois Dubernard’s over-achieving estate consists of 20 acres of vines just across the street from Fronsac. The consulting winemaker is the brilliant Claude Gros. Bouscat’s 2010 Caduce, a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% of both Malbec and Cabernet Franc, exhibits abundant mulberry and blueberry fruit intermixed with notions of spring flowers.
