2011 Cono Sur Sauvignon Blanc; Valle Central, Chile
This fresh and delicate wine with pale yellow-green hues is a product of the red clayish soils and the Pacific Ocean. It’s full of citric and fruity aromas of white peaches, green apples, grapefruit and notes of white flowers. In the mouth, it is crisp and balanced with a pleasant minerality. 2011 Mulderbosch Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon; Coastal Region, South Africa
This fruit-driven, sophisticated dry rosé combines mouthwatering flavors of cherry and wild strawberry with graceful notes of lavender and herbes de provence. Exhibiting a lively fresh purple/cherry red color, this is a voluptuous Pinot Noir with rich fruit notes of cherry, raspberry, plum and strawberry – a red fruit party! – enhanced by subtle smoked hints. In mouth sweet fruit notes stand out, and its fine tannins give it a great texture and a mouth filling structure. Balanced and New World styled, this is a wine of personality and elegance. 2011 Altos Las Hormigas Malbec; Mendoza, Argentina
Co-founded by Alberto Antonini, Altos Las Hormigas is owned by Italian and Argentine wine professionals, committed to the search of the most interesting soils for Malbec in Mendoza. The company culture combines its Tuscan wine-making heritage with Cuyan vineyard management expertise, to deliver a unique wine, which reflects a deep and authentic expression of its terroir. Nose of crushed red berries and black fruit, hints of violet and dried herbs. The palate is nicely balanced with juicy fruit flavors that are supported by firm tannins on the long, vibrant finish.
