Tuesday May 9th – Dinner at the Asheville Wine Market -The Wines of Austria with Carlo Huber Selections: “Quality & Culture in Terroir driven wines”

It’s been a while since we’ve seen our good friend Carlo Huber and we’re excited to have him here for our very first in house Austrian Wine Dinner!  Carlo is one of our favorite importers of Austrian wines and his enthusiasm for Grüner Veltliner knows no bounds.

From Carlo himself:  “I am all about Artisanal Production! Let the soil, the earth, the sun, the wind…basically nature drive the core essence of the wine. I like authentic wines: balance, harmony, silkiness, acidic structure, aromatic finesse. Cold climate wines with longer ripening seasons, wines that tell a story, wines that are a story and represent cultural aspects of a region. I really like high levels of acidity in my wine, for me it is a key element that brings elegance to a wine and makes drinking and enjoying wine pleasurable.  Working with winemakers that I trust, respect and who adhere to letting wine as much as possible being made by nature with less & less influence by modern winemaking techniques is essential to me. Lower sulfites, less chemicals and working with nature, clear, crisp and consistent production makes me tick. The winemakers in this portfolio demonstrate a tremendous care about what they produce and after some time working and enjoying wines like these, one notices that these wines are imbued not just with traces of its region, but also with the energy of care and respect that was dedicated to it in the vineyard and in the cellar.

We’ll be pairing with our regular partners, Cordial and Craft but also we’ll be featuring local Asheville food truck “Bun Intended” for some terrific Thai cuisine.

$39.99 per person including food and wine pairings.
Seating is limited, so call now to reserve your spot.
